I created this track as a casual project, but it turned out to be one of my most significant endeavors at the time. Since Avatar 2 was set to release soon after, I aimed to incorporate some of the original sound elements from James Cameron's first film. The combination of synths, classical orchestra, and world instruments in the instrumentation appealed to me. All in all, I am incredibly satisfied with the final product.

This project was fun, as it involved me to start learning sound design. I made all of the synth sounds as well as the use of Foley and other sound effects you can hear in the background. This clip originated from a YouTube trailer where I contacted the games company to send this clip to them. Unfortunately, it never came to fruition, but it helped me learn a lot more about the synths I use.

After talking with Ben Wallfish through connections (the composer for IT Chapters One and Two) I got inspired and composed some music to this short scene from the first movie. This scene was great to compose to as it was short and I could easily envision what I wanted. Sound effects and rises were especially important and It came out nicely with authentic sounds recorded at home with various instruments.

This song and the one below were made for my first end-of-year assessment for college. I made four tracks, each briefing that I chose. I took my inspiration from thte 90s using only my Korg and old software. This was very challenging, and I encountered many faults, but it was quite successful in the end! This rap track uses a lot of sampling, which was widely used at that time,, especially for gangster rap.

This song was an experiment using AI. As controversial as it is, I decided to take it to lengths by collaborating with a friend who mapped my vocals to an AI generic voice to see if it would be noticed by my tutor. This worked as planned, as he only realised once he read my coursework article on my research into AI and the forms it can take in music creation. Overall, I had a great time making this in college and at home!

Reus was commissioned by a friend for his private game that he was working on. The music tells a nostalgic story, referencing games of his childhood. I took this project on with many attempts, however, I soon realised that minimalism was the way to go. Using references from Steve Reich, I composed this piece well and the final result was worth the struggle.

Sensonite was a commission for a video game called ‘West Ward’ where a boy finds his way home through his memories. This music plays in the penultimate scene where he looks back at his life as a younger child with his musician father. This was a very sentimental scene and was probably one of my favorite parts of the game. The track was originally intended as a side project but it turned into quite a meaningful result!

On this project, I was tasked to be in charge of the recording and the composition. Using mainly Sure products, I went for a Fleetwood Mac style of recording which ended up complimenting the song well. Whilst I was not there for the mix, I assisted with the production and layout of the song.

I recently started to re-watch the series Rick and Morty and found myself inspired by the soundtracks and foley. I quickly picked up the style and began to work on a short scene, recording all the foley elements at home and arranging them into the scene. SFX are very important in this scene, as there is a lot of ambience and soundscapes to create. This was a fun project just made in under 5 hours!

Note: The theme tune is not my work and was created by Ryan Elder (2018)
